Lead was the first studio in Canada to offer this amazing class which is part mind-body, part cardio, part strength and totally unique. Easy-to-learn exercises on the CoreAlign® emphasize an upright posture and are designed to improve posture, balance and functional movement. Stand taller and move more efficiently. Your core will get stronger (and by core, we don’t just mean your abs, we mean your front, back and sides of your torso). You will get your heart pumping as we work with an interval-like structure to the class. You will be amazed how quickly your body begins to respond to the CoreAlign exercises. The CoreAlign is a great add-on to your current workout schedule or – it can very easily be a workout on its own.
The CoreAlign creates an environment for your body that will work to ‘undo’ patterns and habits (or old injures that have never been totally fixed) that are starting to cause issues in our activities of daily living. It is great for people with knee and hip issues, SI joint issues and for people who want to stand taller to combat today’s ‘tech neck syndrome’. CoreAlign is a popular class for people recovering from injuries, as well as hockey players, skaters, golfers, runners and other athletes.

Easy-to-learn exercises on the CoreAlign® emphasize an upright posture and are designed to improve posture, balance and functional movement. In other words, you will feel the burn, get a great stretch and get your heart rate up – it is the perfect class! The CoreAlign is training for life!

Our Pilates Instructors

Desiree Deis
I think what made me fall in love with Pilates is how an exercise that looks simple to do can be the most difficult to achieve correctly. From my background in dance, Pilates compliments dance so well! You work your body from the inside out and I find that feeling to be invigorating! My most rewarding experience since being a part of the Lead team would have to be the expressions left on the clients’ faces after a Pilates class has ended. They are leaving the studio happy, and feeling better than when they arrived.

Misty Urbatsch
What drew you to LEAD?
I started Pilates when I was living in Australia, while recovering from a back injury. Before moving to Saskatoon, I did extensive online research on the different Pilates studios in Saskatoon and Lead appealed to me because of all the great class options that were on the schedule. What kept me coming back was the friendly staff, challenging classes, and their ability to translate why I need Pilates in my life every day.
What do you love most about working with clients?
LEAD attracts the best clients! Every single client makes it rewarding to teach Pilates. I love seeing client’s bodies change from class to class, their dedication to moving their bodies better, and hearing about how much they love Pilates and how it is changing their day-to-day lives. Clients remind me why I LOVE PILATES SOOOO MUCH!
What is your favourite class?
My favourite class is the full mat repertoire because of the flow and challenge. I am also in love with the trapeze table because a lot of the mat exercises translate so well on that piece of equipment.
What don’t we know about you that you would like to share?
Joseph Pilates is pretty cool, but I have had a lifelong crush on Jane Fonda.
Do you have any words of wisdom?
Smile. Laugh. Move.
