Jennifer has been working with Adult Mental Health and Addiction Services as a Mental Health Counsellor for 18 years. She spent 12 of those years working at the University of Saskatchewan Student Wellness centre with an interdisciplinary team (nurses, doctors, psychiatrists, massage, chiropractor, and dietitian) doing counselling with university students of all ages.
I love what I do. I am honoured to hear people’s experiences and be present with them when they make changes in their world to be their best selves. I am always inspired by the stories of resilience, strength, and love that flourish despite hardships and trauma.
Jennifer uses a variety of counselling methods to assist people in connecting with themselves, seeing their own worth, providing themselves permission to create boundaries based on their needs, and build positive relationships in their world. She believes that a large component of mental health is affected by our sleep, our eating, our movement, our connections, and our self-care.
Her specialties are Mental Health Social Work, Individual and Couples work, Mindfulness, Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss Counselling, ADHD, sexual abuse, eating disorders, and addictions counselling using Systems Theory, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Strength Based Counselling.
