Tammy Nelson has worked in the Mental Health and Addictions field well over 25 years as a private therapist, a mental health & addictions counsellor, a mental health family educator, a psychiatric nurse educator, and a crisis/ER response RPN. Tammy completed her Master of Social Work in 2008, a Bachelor of Social Work in 2001 and previous to this, worked in the field of psychiatric nursing. Early on, Tammy complimented her psychiatric nursing career with social work clinical practice to work more holistically with clients toward optimal health.

Through collaborative efforts, Tammy works with her clients to find solutions through dialogue, forge new paths, celebrate aha moments, and come to a meaningful understanding and acceptance of themselves and their capabilities. Tammy believes that inevitable personal growth and healing will occur through the therapeutic exchange.

Tammy specializes in men’s mental health, however, will meet with any individual, couple or family member needing help with relationships, life transitions, infidelity, anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, grief and loss, disordered eating, substance use, sexual addiction, mood disorders, self-esteem, domestic abuse, and farm stress.
